Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 20, 2026
1. Scope
This policy covers the Via Journeys web shop (shop.travelnerdsblog.com). The Via Journeys mobile app has its own privacy policy, available inside the app.
2. What this site collects
The shop has no user accounts and sets no cookies. We use privacy-preserving analytics (PostHog, hosted in the EU) configured without cookies or persistent identifiers — each visit is anonymous, we only see aggregate page views. That's why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.
3. Checkout
Purchases are processed by Paddle as merchant of record, under the Paddle Privacy Policy. From a completed purchase we receive your checkout email, the product purchased, the amount, and a transaction ID. We use this for exactly one thing: delivering the purchase into the Via Journeys app account with the same email.
4. Purchase records and account deletion
Records of web purchases (checkout email, product, amount, and transaction ID) are kept after you delete your Via Journeys app account. We keep them so your purchases can be restored automatically if you sign up again with the same email — without this record, a deleted account would permanently lose everything bought on the web. The legal basis is performance of your purchase contract.
Purchase records not linked to any account (including those released by an account deletion) are deleted after 12 months. If you want them gone sooner, email us and we'll delete them — note that this permanently forfeits the associated purchases.
5. Emails
Paddle sends your receipt. We may send emails strictly related to your purchase (for example, how to access your guide). No marketing emails come from buying a guide.
6. Your rights
You can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email travelnerdsblog@gmail.com. For data processed by Paddle (payment details), Paddle is the controller — their privacy policy explains your rights there.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the current version always lives on this page, with the date above updated.
